The first Bulahdelah rock, rattle 'n' roll classic autofest in 2010 was such a huge success that the organisers decided to make it an annual event. The second Autofest in 2011 was also a great success.

Slotting in between the Myall Motorfest at Hawks Nest and the Kurri Kurri Nostalgia Festival this auto 'extravaganza' has a distinctly country town feel as Bulahdelah welcomes motoring enthusiasts from all over NSW.

The inaugural show had almost 100 fantastic machines on display arriving from clubs as far away as Sydney and Kempsey (and beyond). Not all the vehicles were from out of town however, with many locals taking the opportunity to show off their pride and joy. It was great to see many old cars and machines emerging from dusty sheds into the bright sunshine. Included in this array were over 60 classic cars as well as motorbikes, tractors, trucks and historic static engines.

The large crowd enjoyed browsing amongst the varied market stalls whilst savouring the delicious food and drink on offer and generally soaking up the atmosphere. To further satisfy the senses the sweet voice of local musical sensation Brooke Harvey entertained the crowd throughout the day.

To top of a great day, as the sun set the local rock and roll dance group kicked up their heels and thrilled the crowd with a rock and roll dancing demonstration that lasted until after sunset. This demonstration was so popular that organisers have decided the 2011 autofest will include a rock and roll dance as part of its schedule.

It was great to see many local community groups get involved with making the 2010 autofest such a huge success and we look forward to an even bigger and better event in 2011 with many rare historic trucks and machines also promised to be shown by local collectors.

Special thanks must go out to the Bulahdelah Rural Fire Service who manned the gates from 6am until after the movie at 10pm. Their support for the community is always appreciated. We were more than delighted to make a $1,000 donation to the local RFS from the proceeds of the day.
